Course Description

Note: Algebra 2 [Honors] Semester B contains Quarter Parts 3 and 4.

In the third part of Algebra 2 [Honors], you'll become a function wizard as you work with advanced types of polynomials and conic sections! First, continue your studies of rational functions by studying their graphs and solutions in depth. Next, explore more complicated exponential and logarithmic functions and use them to model real-world scenarios such as logistic growth. Afterward, apply your graphing and solving skills to advanced functions and their inverses. Finally, explore the world of conic sections, their equations, and their graphs. In the fourth part of Algebra 2 [Honors], you'll cover some exciting algebraic, trigonometric, and statistical topics! First, study how linear and exponential functions closely relate to sequences. Next, begin your exploration of the world of trigonometry. In this section you will learn about the unit circle, special angles, trigonometric functions, identities, and formulas. You will finish Part 4 of the course by working with normally distributed data. In this section you will learn to recognize normally distributed data and solve real-world problems involving this type of distribution.
