Examines American History (Colonial period through the American Civil War) from several different perspectives and analyzes several themes including race, class, ethnicity, gender, and nationalism. An in-depth analysis of selected issues, periods, personalities or institutions is completed in an effort to understand the youthful nation’s changing, often clashing, attitudes and values.
