Endicott College ED 221 Emergent Literacy Instruction Fall 2024, Start Date 10/22/24

Students will explore language and literacy development (speaking, listening, reading and writing) in young children. Characteristics of literacy rich environments will be discussed. Evidence-based, culturally responsive, and developmentally appropriate strategies and approaches for fostering early literacy learning will be emphasized. Additionally, students will become familiar with a variety of screeners and assessments that can be used to guide educators in supporting young children’s literacy development.
