This course is an introduction to the art of persuasive communication based on the study and application of rhetorical theory and on mass media techniques. This course will examine rhetoric from an historical perspective and explore the uses of rhetoric in mass media and contemporary culture. This course is designed to enhance the student's ability to apply rhetorical principles to various forms of writing and speaking. This course is designed to help students improve their writing skills and would be beneficial to students in all majors. This course fulfills the general education requirement for an interdisciplinary course.
