Millikin University ED 120 Introduction to American Education Winter 2024, Start Date 12/30/24

This course is Dual Credit Eligible. Problems concerning the nature and aims of American education, the curriculum, the organization and and administration of a school system are studied with respect to their historical development and the philosophical issues to which they are releated. Special empahsis is placed on the present strenghts and weaknesses of American schools and upon the potential value of educational innovations. The professional role of the teacher will be examined with special attention give to the professional standards that prospective teaches must meet.
