Course Description

The first part of Pre-Calculus Credit Recovery lets you review some of the fundamental ideas of Pre-Calculus, including functions and their graphs, the complex number system, exponential and logarithmic functions, and matrices. You will learn about a variety of functions and the characteristics of their equations and graphs. In addition, you will extend your knowledge of functions to fundamental rules and theorems you can use to find solutions to complex polynomial equations. Next, you will explore the inverse relationship between exponential and logarithmic functions. You will complete the part by using matrices to solve a variety of problems.

Course Goals

• Find inverse functions algebraically and graphically and determine their domains, ranges, and asymptotes.
• Solve direct, inverse, combined, and joint variation problems.
• Demonstrate the ability to use the remainder theorem and the factor theorem.
• Perform operations on complex numbers.
• Solve systems of equations using a variety of methods.
